The Challenge

Multiple employees needed to use their job control spreadsheet at the same time. Although Excel has a shared workbook functionality, a great many Excel features are simply unavailable in shared workbooks. While VBA code is not blocked entirely, any VBA code that tries to use features that are unsupported in shared workbooks will fail. Another solution had to be found.

The Solution

After careful analysis, we concluded that a Google Sheet offered the best solution. It allows multiple users to edit information simultaneously and provides instant updates to all its members. Google Script can be used to provide macro functionality, even in a multi user environment. It also provides a tracking and auditing history by default.
